The Rural Municipality of Reciprocity No. 32 is a booming R.M. located in the southeastern corner of Saskatchewan surrounding the Village of Alida. Operating a fleet of modern equipment, the municipality maintains a road network system of over 300 miles. The municipality is located in the Bakken oilfield near the towns of Carnduff, Oxbow, and Redvers, providing the opportunity to enjoy small town living with access to many amenities.

The Rural Municipality of Reciprocity No. 32 is looking for a self-motivated, career minded individual to fill the position of Permanent Full Time Public Works Operator. This is a year-round position which will include the following responsibilities:

​

• Road maintenance including grading and snow removal

• Regular preventative maintenance and minor repairs on machines & equipment;

• Physical labour such as debris removal and fencing;

• Record keeping;

• Compliance with all policies and applicable legislation;

• And all other duties as assigned or required. ​

 

The successful candidate will possess the following:

​

• Minimum 3 years of motor grader operating experience

• A valid Class 5 license (Class 1A or 3A license an asset. Drivers Abstracts are obtained annually by the municipality);

• The ability to establish effective working relationships with Council and other employees’;

• The ability to communicate in a professional and effective way with the public, referring complex inquires or requests to the Public Works Supervisor;

• Competent oral and written communication skills;

• A willingness to learn and advance one’s skills for the purpose of job growth including obtaining WHIMIS certification upon employment and other courses/training as necessary.

 

The municipality is offering a minimum salary of $67,000, which is negotiable with further experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including short & long-term disability, group life insurance, a health and dental plan, and a group pension plan.
